Remember the AGM is at 8pm on the 24th March. Anyone wishing to stand on Committee has until 5pm on the 17th March to send me your nomination forms. Nominations will posted on the website after the Committee meeting on the 17th March. We hold monthly meetings on the teen Wednesday of each month & all newcomers are welcome to join a hard working Committee.

The following proposals have been put forward for the AGM:-

Thelma Alsford proposes that a Top Ten Leaders Chart for Dog of the Year Points Trophy be published in the quarterly newsletter. This will be voted on at the AGM so please can you consider your opinion. Would anyone be interested in collating the points? Should there be a separate sub committee?

Janet Collins proposes that there be a working sub-committee belonging to the Kennel Club of Jersey made up of a representative of each of the other Dog Clubs on the Island, who would meet three times per year. This will enable them to keep up to date with any rule changes, running of shows, discipline actions etc. She also suggests that a representative from the Committee who is knowledgeable in the following disciplines, Working Trials, Obedience and Agility, sit on the working sub –committee & report back at Committee Meetings. This will be voted on at the AGM so please can you consider your opinion. At the same time consider what the aim of the sub-committee should be, who would fund the meetings ie do we need to review the affiliate membership fee to take this expense into account, who should chair the meetings, etc

Congratulations to Carol & David Turner’s Australian Shepherd for winning Dog of the Year.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Julian Schofield’s Pomeranian Thelbern Step in Time with Rudoli for winning the Annual Points Trophy and Pat Michel & Pat Dale’s Yakee Equal Opportunity at Ksarina for winning the Pekingese Points Trophy.

We have also added a Junior Handling class at Matches which will be available for the Juniors to enter throughout the year. This class can be entered even if the Junior has previously won at a match & a class will be open to all Juniors at the Supermatch to enter even if they have not won a Junior Handlers class during the year.

Also looking for new judges for Matches, so if you would like to get a foot on the judging ladder, contact Steven or Collette.

Let us know what you like about the website, what is missing, how we can improve, etc
